Mdina – The old capital

Mdina, a medieval town situated in the centre of the island is the old capital of Malta. Punic remains discovered beyond the city’s walls indicate the importance of this region to Malta’s Phoenician settlers. Mdina is also known as the silent city by Maltese and tourists alike.
